> ETFs Take 999 Million in Biggest Day Since October

*Bitcoin Hashpoint, September 22, 2026*

Spot Bitcoin ETFs absorbed $998.95 million on Monday, the largest single session in eleven months and roughly four times what Strategy committed to Bitcoin and to its own preferred stock across the entire prior week. Bitcoin trades at $86,009, up 1.7% in 24 hours and 12.0% over seven days, which puts price at 1.35 times the power-law floor of $63,945 and 0.56 times the median of $152,251. STRC closed at $98.78 and bid $98.95 before this morning's open, five cents under the $99.00 line this publication set on September 19 and $1.05 under a par it last closed above 134 days ago.

## The wrapper outbids the treasury company

Spot Bitcoin ETFs took $998.95 million Monday, the largest daily inflow since October 6, 2025.

BlackRock's IBIT took $381.4 million, ARK's ARKB $289.1 million and Fidelity's FBTC $238.8 million. No fund posted a material redemption. Three sessions of buying now total about $1.6 billion, and cumulative flow since launch reads $56.229 billion. Bloomberg's James Seyffart called Monday's $4.5 billion of trading volume modest against the size of the price move.

Set that against last week's Strategy filing. The company put $75.7 million into 950 coins and $174 million into retiring its own funding instrument, $250 million in total across seven days. The ETF complex took four times that in a single session. This series has treated Strategy as the largest institutional bid in the market; Monday says the title changed hands.

![macro context with btc price panel](https://bitcoinhashpoint.com/content/panels/2026-09-22/macro-context-with-btc-price.png)

The 10-year eased to 4.93%, the 30-year holds 5.27%, and the dollar index reads 100.485.

The curve helped. The 10-year fell about two basis points to 4.93%, a second consecutive session lower and 11 basis points off the 5.04% print of September 17. The 30-year reads 5.27% and the 10-year real yield 2.63%. Brent crude extended a fourth straight decline, which pulled the inflation premium out of the long end. The dollar index climbed to 100.485 anyway. New York Fed President John Williams speaks at the Treasury Market Conference today, and no top-tier release lands before Thursday's jobless claims.

## Price against bands that no longer move

![btc price and power law bands panel](https://bitcoinhashpoint.com/content/panels/2026-09-22/btc-price-and-power-law-bands.png)

Bitcoin at $86,009 reads 1.35 times the power-law floor and 0.56 times the median, both series highs.

Bitcoin touched $87,329 overnight and holds $86,009. Against the bands the dashboard published September 17, that reads 1.35 times a $63,945 floor and 0.56 times a $152,251 median, both highs for this series and well above the 1.24 and 0.52 that opened it on September 9. Both multiples overstate the case. The dashboard refused all seven endpoints for a fifth consecutive morning, a failure inside this publication's automation rather than at the site, and the floor climbs every day those anchors sit still. Read the direction and discount the decimal.

![on chain network state hashrate over time panel](https://bitcoinhashpoint.com/content/panels/2026-09-22/on-chain-network-state-hashrate-over-time.png)

Hashrate reads 1.08 ZH/s at block 968,131, and the October 2 retarget estimates a 3.58% rise to 137.51 trillion.

The network tells a cleaner story than the bands do. Hashrate reads 1.08 zettahashes, up 27.21% on the month, which puts it at 75% of the February 15 peak of 1.43 ZH/s. Blocks arrive 21 seconds inside the ten-minute target. Difficulty holds 132.76 trillion and retargets October 2, an estimated 3.58% higher to 137.51 trillion, revised up from Sunday's 1.84%. Block 968,131 puts cycle four at 61.0% complete with 81,869 blocks left.

## STRC stalls five cents short

![strc panel](https://bitcoinhashpoint.com/content/panels/2026-09-22/strc.png)

STRC closed at $98.78 on day 134 below par and yields 12.15% against its $12.00 annual rate.

Strategy's stretch preferred closed Monday at $98.78, up 27 cents on a day its common gained 9.47%. That ratio reads 35 to one. The instrument bid $98.95 in pre-market trading this morning, five cents under the marker and $1.05 under par, the narrowest discount of the entire series. The $12.00 annual rate yields 12.15% at that price. The at-the-market program stays shut through the September 30 ex-dividend date, and the coupon resets October 1, which leaves seven sessions at a rate the market set back in July.

![strategy purchases panel](https://bitcoinhashpoint.com/content/panels/2026-09-22/strategy-purchases.png)

Strategy holds 846,000 BTC at a $75,416 average, worth $72.76 billion at $86,009 and $8.96 billion above cost.

No new 8-K arrived in the last 24 hours. Yesterday's filing stands as the record: 950 coins at $79,670 and 1,771,238 STRC shares retired in the same week, holdings of 846,000 BTC against $63.80 billion of aggregate cost. At this morning's price the position marks $72.76 billion, $10,593 a coin above cost. The buyback runs near $1.125 billion since July 20, with roughly $875 million of the $2.0 billion authorization left.

## The Bull View

- The Block: Spot Bitcoin ETFs took $998.95 million Monday, the largest daily total since October 6, 2025.

- CoinDesk: Bitcoin gained 44% in the third quarter, its best since late 2024, against 8.7% for gold and 2% for the S&P 500.

- Bitcoin Magazine: The average ETF investor cleared the estimated $81,720 cost basis for the first time since January.

- Benzinga: Fidelity's Jurrien Timmer reads a new four-year cycle as underway after Bitcoin held $60,000 for close to a year.

- TradingKey: MSTR closed up 9.47%, and the Street's average price target now reads $248.49.

- FXStreet: Bitcoin posted its first weekly close above the 50-week moving average since November 2025.

- Cryptonomist: Total crypto market value cleared $3 trillion for the first time since January.

The bulls lean on a wrapper that bought $1.6 billion across three sessions and on a cost-basis line that flipped after eight months underwater. Several of the loudest voices making that case run the funds taking the flow.

## The Bear View

- Bloomberg: Bitcoin retreated from its eight-month high after a 13% rally.

- Invezz: Short liquidations of $648 million supplied the buying, $278 million of it in Bitcoin, and that fuel runs out.

- Bloomberg, citing Coinglass: Perpetual futures open interest reached almost $160 billion, the highest since late October.

- Cryptonews: Bitcoin's daily RSI printed 87.84, deep into overbought territory.

- Trading Economics: The 10-year holds 4.93%, the 30-year 5.27%, and the 10-year real yield 2.63%.

- CoinDesk: FxPro's Alex Kuptsikevich calls this a bull market that still allows sudden pullbacks.

The bears lean on the mechanics of the move and on a real yield above 2.6% that has barely shifted all month. Their strongest point concerns borrowed positioning, because traders replaced every liquidated short with fresh exposure rather than standing aside.

## The Hashpoint read

![daily synthesis panel](https://bitcoinhashpoint.com/content/panels/2026-09-22/daily-synthesis.png)

Price at 1.35 times the floor, ETFs at $998.95 million in one session, STRC at $98.78, and the 10-year at 4.93%.

Price sits at 1.35 times the power-law floor and 0.56 times the median. A coin 35% above its floor and 44% below its median has room in both directions, and Monday changed none of that geometry.

The bulls get the flow right and its source wrong. Nearly a billion dollars entered through the wrapper, not through the treasury company whose impairment this series has spent two weeks measuring. That impairment held straight through Monday. STRC closed at $98.78 on day 134, and the escalator question survives into reset week untouched by the best ETF session since October 2025. A bid that size should have dragged the preferred through par. It moved the instrument 27 cents.

The bears get the borrowed money right and the wrapper wrong. Open interest near $160 billion says this rally carries real fragility, and $648 million of forced short covering explains its speed. That explains none of the $998.95 million, which settles against actual coins and answers to no funding rate.

Hashpoint's own reading holds that the monthly repricing lag leaves Strategy's funding instrument impaired longer than a real-time mechanism would. Monday tested that reading and confirmed it. Bitcoin gained 12% on the week, MSTR gained 9.47% in a session, and the preferred that funds both of them gained 0.27%. A real-time coupon marks into a move like that. A monthly one waits for October 1.

The reset sits seven sessions out, and this morning's bid sits five cents from the line. A close at or above $99.00 before October 1 retires the escalator question for this cycle. A close under $98.00 with the 10-year at 4.93% says neither $174 million of buyback nor the best ETF day in eleven months reaches the instrument, which would make the lag structural rather than cyclical.
